My Bio

I am Kieł Basastrony (a pen name. My real name is Chip), and I write Space Operas and Interplanetary Romance stories online. I am also interested in illustrating and animating. My stories showcase many universal timeless themes set in otherwise alien landscapes. Just as all life forms share certain traits, all intelligent creatures go through the same life events, be they human, alien, or artificial, and they have the same wants and needs whether they have a brain the size of an elephant's or a honeybee's. My digital illustrations similarly try to show the common mixed with the alien.

The programs I usually use for art are DAZ Studio and GIMP, and I'm learning Blender. In 2023, I'm learning to use AI-generated art as another tool in my toolbox. I have grown a lot of opinions about AI Art from experience using it to produce images. It still needs to grow quite a lot before it is as helpful as the shipboard computer on Star Trek: The Original Series.

Committing to a weekly Tumblr Blog

OK, I have successfully committed to having at least one piece of art a week to publish to my Tumblr 'Blog, known as http://wyldspace.tumblr.com/ , so despite all the other commitments for the year I will at least have that much to share. One of the goals (aside from the obvious one: Share my old and new art with more interested folks out on the internet and show how easy it is to get into the arts nowadays.) is to try to get some regular traffic of people checking out the blog so that I can add an advertisement and find out how many pennies a month you actually get from "monetization" of a 'blog.  In researching it, I read two people claimi

Starting to post my old art.

I found tumblr just like Wordpress will let you pre-post for a later time.  I think it is good for anyone running a blog to commit to posting on a regular schedule.  In my case I will post once a week whenever I get the chance and have it officially publish every Friday.  I think it will avoid burnout and keep me motivated. My first old art piece will publish tomorrow on my tumblr blog and my WordPress blog in the category of "Art without Stories".
